Rising Stars: HBCU Entrepreneurship Summit

The mission of HBCU Entrepreneur’s Week™️ is to provide unparalleled interdisciplinary entrepreneurship experiences, opportunities, resources, and support to HBCU students, alumni, faculty, and staff.  We also recognize the importance of creating strong connections between HBCUs, their surrounding areas and local businesses, fostering mutually beneficial collaborations that uplift both the individuals, the HBCU ecosystem, and the economic development of these communities at large.

Rising Stars: HBCU Entrepreneurship Summit is open to anyone interested in learning more about entrepreneurship and is hosted by the Entrepreneurship Institute at Xavier University of Louisiana in collaboration with Entrepreneurship For Everyone.

Program will include a balanced mix of Presentations, Panel Discussions, Workshops, several exciting activities that promote peer-to-peer networking and knowledge exchange, showcase both Student and Greater New Orleans Minority Owned Businesses, and feature Entrepreneurship Support Organizations (ESOs), Government representatives, and business services providers.

Rising Stars: Pitch Competition

This competition provide participants with the opportunity to hone their business pitch, receive constructive feedback, and compete for:

  • $10k in Non-Equity Awards
  • Opportunity to raise additional capital via Crowdfunding
  • Fully sponsored Conference Participation in New Orleans, (including travel and lodging for Finalists that reside outside of Greater New Orleans).

LIVE Finals are held on Sunday, March 10, and will provide audience the opportunity to vote for their favorite and support finalists through crowdfunding.

Track 2:  HBCU Alumni Entrepreneurs plus Minority Owned Businesses in Greater New Orleans

HBCU State of Innovation & Entrepreneurship

Join us on Monday, March 11, 2024 for a dynamic moderated Panel of HBCU faculty sharing insights into the many exciting innovation and entrepreneurship activities, events, and programs that are taking place at various Historically Black Colleges and Universities throughout the U.S. and the U.S.V.I.

Doors open at 5:00 PM Central Time, Panel discussion begins at 5:30 PM Central Time.

TARGET AUDIENCE: High school counselors, teachers, and administrators, HBCU Faculty and Staff, Entrepreneur Support Organizations, Incubators, Accelerators, Philanthropic Organizations and Corporate representatives who have an interest in collaborating, serving, and supporting the development of historically underrepresented innovators and entrepreneurs.

The HBCU State of Innovation Entrepreneurship panel discussion is organized and hosted by The Entrepreneurship Institute at Xavier University of Louisiana, in collaboration with Entrepreneurship For Everyone.

This event is part of the New Orleans Entrepreneur Week (NOEW) 2024 series of programming titled ‘NOEW in Your Neighborhood’ that takes place on Monday, March 11th and Tuesday, March 12th of the week-long event: March 11th – 16th, 2024.

Each NOEW in Your Neighborhood (NIYN) is independently produced by organizers from across the Greater New Orleans region. In order to attend individual NIYN events, you must 1) Register for NOEW 2024 and 2) Register for each NIYN event you plan to attend.
